Now that Yan Diomande's move to Liverpool is definitely off, it's clear that Bradley Barcola is their main target.

The Frenchman is likely to drop even further down the pecking order when Paris Saint-Germain eventually sign Maghnes Akliouche, Mika Godts and potentially Ferran Torres as well.

Because, at the moment, the 23-year-old seems to be Luis Enrique's fourth-choice attacker and, since none of their other forwards are going to move, Barcola is clearly the most likely player to be moved on.

However, even though the Frenchman would be an excellent signing for Liverpool, it's unclear whether a deal will even be reached.

PSG are demanding an obscene amount of money for the attacker, especially since he only has two years left on his current contract so, it's unclear whether an agreement between both clubs will even be reached with their valuations around £35 million apart at the moment.

But, since they definitely need at least one new attacker, it feels obvious who their next transfer should be if it isn't Barcola.

Yankuba Minteh needs to be the next player on Liverpool's transfer hit list

One of the main players that Liverpool need to replace this summer is Mohamed Salah.

The Egyptian King terminated his contract with the Reds a year early due to the sheer number of fallings out that he had with Arne Slot during the 2025-26 season.

However, after he announced his exit, Fenway Sports Group decided to get rid of Slot which means that Salah could have ended up staying if he wanted to.

But, that obviously wasn't meant to be and now, they're scrambling to find a player to replace him

Most of the attackers that Liverpool have been linked with this summer have been natural left-wingers.

And, while most of them can be deployed on the right if needed, the vast majority of them would prefer to be used on the left but, since Iraola already has Rio Ngumoha, Cody Gakpo and Victor Munoz in that position, they don't need anyone else.

That's why the recent links with Yankuba Minteh make a lot of sense.

The Gambian is only 22 years old and already has two full seasons of Premier League experience.

Indeed, he isn't the most prolific player in the world just yet but, under the right management and given enough time, he could easily become a world class talent.

His lightning quick speed is also a major selling point of the attacker and, with how much Iraola has developed attackers at Bournemouth in the past, it feels like Minteh joining Liverpool makes total sense.

Although most wingers are interchangeable these days, it does feel like Liverpool would be better off if they added a natural right-winger to their ranks before the Premier League season got fully underway.

At the moment, Iraola has three more pre-season games to go before his matchup against Newcastle and, at the moment, it feels like neither team are in a great position.

Liverpool have been savaged by injuries while Newcastle seem to be selling almost every single one of their players.

If the Reds don't have someone who can comfortably play as a right-winger by the start of the 2026-27 Premier League season, some serious questions will need to be asked.

Of course, Federico Chiesa and Jeremie Frimpong can both be used there if needed but, since the former of the two has barely played football over the last couple of years and the latter of the two isn't the best finished, neither are ideal options.

Liverpool will want to get back to competing for silverware this summer and, if they don't manage to do that or at least put in enough effort to do so, then fans will be rather disappointed.

There's obviously no knowing what the future has in store for anyone but, unless some serious moves are made soon, the Reds could end up in a whole world of trouble.
