Al-Hilal’s summer pursuit of an attacking upgrade has hit strong European competition, with Liverpool and Manchester City entering talks to sign Everton forward Iliman Ndiaye this window, Asharq Al-Awsat reports.
The Saudi club had already struck one of the window’s biggest deals by landing the Netherlands’ Crysencio Summerville from England’s West Ham United, and they remain in the market for a winger.
Paris Saint-Germain’s Ousmane Dembélé is still viewed as the primary target, with Senegal international Ndiaye topping the contingency plan should those discussions stall.
The report said financial considerations will be decisive, from the fee Everton command to the annual salary required to determine the player’s next step.
Al-Hilal aim to maintain their transfer momentum, but a fight with Premier League heavyweights could complicate negotiations and force them to raise their offer to secure one of the summer’s most important deals.
Italy’s Simone Inzaghi wants to complete his front-line rebuild before the new season kicks off.
