In a recent report, A Bola mentioned that Liverpool are facing tough competition for Almeria centre-forward Luis Suarez. It has been stated that the Reds would have to compete with Manchester United, Sunderland, Juventus and Atletico Madrid in pursuit of the Colombian talent this summer.

Suarez’s Impressive Numbers In Spanish Football

Suarez enjoyed a brilliant campaign at the Spanish club recently as he was responsible for putting in a series of impressive displays for them in La Liga 2. The 27-year-old banged in 31 goals and grabbed eight assists in 43 matches for the Reds last season in all competitions.

The Colombian talent proved himself to be a reliable performer in the final third based on his average of 4.13 shots per 90 minutes in La Liga 2. He kept 39.5% of his attempts on target (stats via fbref.com).

His current contract at Almeria will expire in the summer of 2029 which could make it difficult for the Reds to sign him on the cheap this off-season.

Suarez is proficient at finding a yard of space for himself to get some strikes in at goal. He has proven himself to be a good finisher in Spanish football.

However, there are some concerns over whether he would be able to replicate his good form in the Premier League if the Reds manage to acquire his services this summer.

We can expect Suarez to add more firepower to Liverpool head coach Arne Slot’s frontline. He is good enough to serve as a decent, rotational piece in the Merseyside club’s squad.

At 27, Suarez is about to enter his prime which makes him a decent choice for the Reds to consider this summer. He might even help Liverpool challenge across all fronts over the next few years. Suarez would be well worth the fight, so Slot should consider getting him on board in this summer transfer period. However, the Liverpool boss needs to offer him some time before he can get the best out of the talented striker.
