Liverpool are closing in on a deal to sign Crystal Palace captain Marc Guehi as their summer spending spree continues.

Liverpool are in pole position to sign the England international and talks between the two clubs will take place within the next 24 hours.

The Mirror also report that Darwin Nunez has told Napoli that he is ready to leave Liverpool this transfer window, but the Italian champions are ready to stretch out negotiations in order to get the Reds to reduce their £70m valuation.

Napoli believe a fee of £50m would be a fair fee for both clubs, with the Uruguayan coming to the conclusion that his future lies away from Liverpool.

Sunderland have agreed a deal with Strasbourg over the signing of Senegal midfielder Habib Diarra, according to the Guardian.

The Wearside club are set to pay a club record £30m fee for the 21-year-old, who was on the radar of fellow promoted side Leeds United, AC Milan and Eintracht Frankfurt. It surpasses the previous record of £20m which Sunderland paid Roma for Enzo Le Fee.

Elsewhere, El Chiringuito report Nottingham Forest have submitted a £5m bid for Real Mallorca’s right back Pablo Maffeo.

The 27-year-old is said to have agreed a to ‘terms of contract’ with Forest, as Nuno Espirito Santo’s side prepare for life in European football.

Football Insider say that Manchester United are prepared to open formal talks to sign Emiliano Martinez after they sell Andre Onana.

United are apparently willing to accept cut-price offers for the Cameroonian, with Monaco interested in signing the 29-year-old.

Finally, Fabrizio Romano reports Liverpool defender Jarell Quansah will have a medical at Bayer Leverkusen on Monday ahead of his £35m move to the German side.

Quansah was part of the England Under-21 side that come out victorious against Germany on Saturday.
