Liverpool confirm Andy Robertson will leave at end of the season | OneFootball

Liverpool have confirmed Andy Robertson will leave the club at the end of the season. 

The 32-year-old’s contract will expire in June, and the Reds will not offer him a new deal. 

The news comes after Mohamed Salah confirmed he will depart the Merseyside club this summer without serving the final year of his contract.   

Both Robertson and Salah joined Liverpool in the same transfer window and have been key players for the team over the years. 

In a video announcing his decision, Robertson said: “I think now’s the time for me to move on”. 

He added: “The nine years I’ll look back on with a big smile on my face.” 

Robertson has been a key first-team player since joining Liverpool from Hull City in 2017 for £8 million. 

He has made 373 appearances across all competitions for the Merseyside titans, scoring 13 goals and creating 69 assists. 

The experienced left-back has won two Premier League titles and a Champions League during his time at Anfield. 

Robertson came close to joining Tottenham Hotspur in January when the two clubs agreed a deal in principle. 

But Liverpool pulled the plug on the move after they were unable to recall Kostas Tsimikas from his loan at Roma. 

Robertson has struggled for first-team opportunities this season, with summer signing Milos Kerkez ahead of him in the pecking order. 

The Scotland captain has featured in 19 Premier League games, with 13 of them coming off the bench. 

Robertson will now look to join another club where he can get regular minutes on the pitch. 

According to The Guardian, Napoli, Juventus, Atletico Madrid and Tottenham are all keen to sign him.
