Liverpool confirm signing of Jeremy Jacquet from Rennes | OneFootball

Liverpool have confirmed the signing of French defender Jeremy Jacquet from Rennes in a deal reported to be worth £60 million.

The 20-year-old will remain with Rennes for the rest of the 2025-26 season before officially joining Anfield this summer.

Jacquet underwent a medical on Merseyside , with £55 million paid upfront and a further £5 million in add-ons. The defender has signed a five-year contract, running until 2031, with the option of a further year.

The move could see Jacquet step into the role currently held by Ibrahima Konaté, whose future at Liverpool remains uncertain as he enters the final months of his contract.

Regarded as one of Europe’s brightest young defenders, Jacquet has become a regular for Rennes over the past year and had been heavily linked with a January move to Chelsea before Liverpool secured his signature.
