According to Fabrizio Romano, Liverpool could still make a move to sign Rayan Cherki (21) from Olympique Lyonnais before the end of the winter transfer window. The Reds hold a long-standing interest in the France U21 international.

Despite no official bid from the Merseyside club, the Premier League club have been linked with a potential move for the 21-year-old throughout the January transfer window. Liverpool have scouted Cherki extensively, but no negotiations have taken place with Les Gones at this stage.

OL have to sell players in the winter transfer window to avoid relegation to Ligue 2 at the end of the season. An agreement has been reached with Cherki to allow the academy graduate to leave the club before the end of the window if an interested club submits an offer of €22.5m. Bayern Munich, Bayer Leverkusen and Napoli have all recently been linked with a move for the Frenchman.
