Liverpool’s summer transfer window has taken another intriguing turn as Ian Doyle of The Liverpool Echo reports that the Reds are now open to offers for several key forwards. This signals not only a shift in strategy but also Arne Slot’s determination to shape the attack in his own image after last season’s Premier League triumph.
Darwin Nunez arrived with big expectations, yet his time at Anfield has been a mixed bag. Doyle reports, “Liverpool will entertain offers for Darwin Nunez, who remains a target for AC Milan and Saudi Pro League side Al-Hilal despite Napoli ending their interest,” adding that Liverpool value him at over £50 million.

While Nunez’s raw numbers are respectable — 40 goals and 22 assists in 143 appearances — the detail is less flattering. Only five of those goals came in the Premier League last season, highlighting inconsistency in front of goal. His place in Slot’s plans looks increasingly tenuous.
Federico Chiesa, signed only last year, has struggled with fitness and form. Doyle notes the Italian “is being courted by a number of Italian clubs.” It seems a swift return to Serie A could be on the cards, a decision that might benefit both Liverpool and the player.
Luis Diaz, meanwhile, has been the subject of serious attention. Bayern Munich’s €67.5m (£58.6m) bid was rejected, but Barcelona are still circling, and Bayern are expected to return with an improved offer. Whether Liverpool can resist depends on how crucial Slot sees Diaz for next season’s campaign, especially with Florian Wirtz already on board.

Perhaps the most surprising revelation is that Liverpool “are likely to be tempted by offers of around £25m” for Ben Doak. The teenage Scotland international has shown flashes of potential, but in a squad needing balance and investment, his sale could help fund further arrivals.
As Doyle summarises, “it’s merely the beginning” of Liverpool’s attacking reshuffle, with Hugo Ekitike still linked and more deals expected before the window closes.

Arne Slot, fresh off a Premier League title in his debut season, appears determined to reshape the squad. Trimming the forward line, even of big names, shows a ruthless streak — one aimed at keeping Liverpool competitive both domestically and in Europe.
From a fan’s perspective, this report will spark mixed emotions. On one hand, Nunez’s sale feels inevitable. He’s a player who splits opinion, and although we all wanted him to succeed, his patchy finishing has cost Liverpool at key moments. £50 million or more seems fair, and reinvesting those funds could be transformative.
With Chiesa, it’s hard not to feel disappointed. Many fans were excited when he arrived, but injuries have blunted his impact. A return to Italy might save his career, even if it feels like unfinished business here.
Luis Diaz is where most supporters will pause. His flair, work rate and moments of magic make him a fan favourite. If Bayern or Barcelona come calling again, it will be a test of the club’s ambition. Do we cash in or keep one of our most exciting attackers?
The Ben Doak news is perhaps the biggest shock. Fans see him as one for the future, and £25 million might seem tempting, but will we regret letting him go too soon? With Florian Wirtz signed and Hugo Ekitike linked, Slot clearly wants a younger, more adaptable front line.
Overall, it’s a summer of change at Anfield, and while some exits may sting, there’s trust in Slot’s vision after his title-winning debut season.
