Fabrizio Romano: Liverpool Have Already Decided Their Next Manager

Things are moving rapidly at Anfield. Liverpool have sacked Arne Slot this morning in a bombshell move and they have already decided their new head coach.

That’s according to Fabrizio Romano, who exclusively broke the news about Slot’s sacking.

Speaking on X he said: “Andoni Iraola set to become the next Liverpool manager as revealed earlier today!”

“The negotiations will move forward quickly to get it done with formal steps but #LFC decision made…”

“Iraola will be the next manager.”

The Spaniard has guided Bournemouth into the Europa League after finishing sixth in the Premier League. It is the first time in the club’s history that they have secured European football.

Iraola previously worked with Liverpool sporting director Richard Hughes during his time at Bournemouth.

After turning down a move to AC Milan a couple of days ago, it now appears that he was waiting for the Liverpool job.

As for Slot, it is a sad ending for just the second manager to win the Premier League title at Liverpool. He certainly deserved a send off from the supporters, but there’s no denying that the evidence stacked against him this season.
