This has seen Jeremie Frimpong arrive at Anfield. However, it has quickly become apparent that he is a much better winger than right-back.

So, Arne Slot has trusted Conor Bradley when fit, and when he wasn't fit, he's been playing Dominik Szoboszlai in that role.

But that is just a temporary measure.

Long-term Liverpool need a right-back and they need a player they can trust more than Bradley, who is very injury prone.

According to TEAMtalk the club is monitoring a number of players and is preparing to line-up a move for a right-back in the near future.

One of the names mentioned by the outlet is someone who could be a generational prospect and who is an extraordinary talent.

According to the report, Liverpool have set sights on Daniel Banjaqui. He is 17-years-old and was only recently given his debut by Jose Mourinho at Benfica.

But he did catch the eye at the U17 World Cup, just as Liverpool-bound Mor Talla Ndiaye and Ifeanyi Ndukwe did.

He's a proper flying full-back who loves to bomb up and down the wing.

He was used in a bit more of a deeper role for Portugal at the U17 World Cup and showed off his nice passing range - especially in the build-up. Showcasing that he can also be that inverted full-back type.

But his biggest strength is the fact that he is fast and strong in his duels (won 68% of his defensive duels at the World Cup). He’s the type of defender you don’t really want to come up against as an attacker because he swarms around you and eats up space.

He’s a strong dribbler and he can be effective in the final third. In many ways he reminds you of Nuno Mendes, who is a similar profile on the left.

Knowing Slot's obsession with Paris Saint Germain, this move just makes sense. Liverpool loved Mendes, too. But they were priced out for him.

Banjaqui is a similarly incredible player, and now is the time to sign him before his value increases.
