Liverpool loanee Konstantinos Tsimikas has failed to impress at AS Roma this season.

According to journalist Alfredo Pedulla, Roma have ruled out making his loan move permanent and will send him back to Liverpool at the end of the season.

The 29-year-old has played second fiddle to Andrew Robertson throughout his Liverpool career, but the club moved on from him last summer.

Kerkez was brought in as a long-term successor to Robertson, who is expected to leave Liverpool when his contract expires at the end of the season.

That decision opened the door for Tsimikas to seek regular first-team opportunities elsewhere.

Roma jumped at the chance to sign the Greece international left back on a season-long loan, but his performances have been massively underwhelming.

The club believed they had secured a reliable left back. Tsimikas also pushed for the move as he was eager for a fresh start abroad.

After weeks of back-and-forth negotiations, Roma finally acquired their primary target, but that early optimism faded quickly.

Tsimikas has struggled to settle into Gian Piero Gasperini’s system.

He has started just two of his five Serie A appearances, with a series of schoolboy errors and uninspiring performances pushing him closer to the bench than the pitch.

Even when Angelino was sidelined for weeks, opening the door for Tsimikas to nail down a regular starting berth, Gasperini opted to shift Wesley to the left flank.

That decision spoke volumes, and Tsimikas may have run out of chances to prove he can step up when it matters the most.
