Over the past week or so, there has been growing speculation that Real Madrid forward Rodrygo Goes has emerged as a possible target for Liverpool.
The Premier League champions are staring at the possibility of parting ways with Luis Diaz, who is a target for Bayern Munich.
As such, they are keeping an eye on the market for potential replacements, with the name of Rodrygo being linked heavily of late.
In fact, some reports suggested that there had been direct contact between the Reds and the player’s camp to discuss a possible move.
However, now, according to James Pearce of The Athletic, Liverpool are not looking at Rodrygo as a possible candidate to replace Luis Diaz should he leave Anfield.
The update from the journalist further claims that there have been no talks held over a possible transfer either.

This comes in complete contradiction to reports over the week which seemed to suggest that Liverpool were willing to go all out to sign Rodrygo from Real Madrid.
The 24-year-old attacker seems destined to leave the Santiago Bernabeu this summer, having lost prominence within the team.
Manager Xabi Alonso barely used the Brazilian international in the FIFA Club World Cup and given the number of attacking options at his disposal, Rodrygo could be sacrificed.
The Premier League appeared to be the attacker’s potential destination if he left Real Madrid.
However, with Arsenal also having ended their pursuit and Liverpool seemingly not seeing him as a target to replace Diaz, at least for now, it remains to be seen where he ends up.
