If Liverpool can’t convince Konate to sign a new contract, they may propose a swap deal with Real Madrid involving Rodrygo, according to DefensaCentral.

Madrid is actively searching for a new center-back this summer and is reportedly interested in Konaté, along with Arsenal’s William Saliba. Reports suggest that the Spanish giants have already reached out to Saliba’s camp about a potential transfer.

Konate’s current deal with Liverpool runs through the summer of 2026, and the Premier League leaders would prefer to use him in a deal for Rodrygo rather than risk losing him on a free transfer.

With Mohamed Salah’s contract expiring at the end of the season, Liverpool is also on the lookout for a forward who can become a key player for the team in the years ahead.
