Ibrahima Konaté is entering the final year of his Liverpool deal, and with no new agreement in place, talk around his future at Anfield is picking up, especially with PSG keeping a close watch.

Foot Mercato reported that several major European sides — including PSG, Real Madrid, and Barcelona — have shown interest in Konaté. Liverpool chose to keep him last summer rather than consider possible bids.

More recently, Foot Mercato reporter Santi Aouna noted that Real Madrid no longer view Konaté as a priority, shifting their focus to Dayot Upamecano, with a verbal agreement already in place. Even so, PSG’s interest has not faded, and Konaté still has the option of signing an extension with Liverpool.

Amidst the ongoing transfer rumors, Konaté broke his silence to provide an update on his future.

“I’ve seen a lot of things in the press recently. I don’t know where that’s coming from,” Konaté said. “My agents are continuing discussions with Liverpool. I hope my decision will be made very soon so I can announce it.”

A previous CaughtOffside report noted that Liverpool have given Konaté a clear final choice: take their latest contract proposal or be moved in the January transfer window.

The report also added that Liverpool does not plan to let the matter linger. They are ready to move Konaté and have Marc Guehi lined up as a possible replacement this month.

If Konaté turns down this latest offer, Liverpool does not intend to make any additional proposals, viewing this deal as enough to place him among their top earners. L’Équipe recently reported that the club has now presented the France international with a new contract for the third time.

Despite an inconsistent start to the season, Liverpool remains confident they can convince Konaté to commit to a new deal, taking clear steps to secure his future at the club.
