The first Merseyside Derby of the season arrives at Anfield on Saturday as Premier League leaders Liverpool host their city rivals, Everton.
Arne Slot’s side enter the lunchtime kick-off with a perfect domestic record, having created a new league record by winning their opening four games with late goals.
They face a defensively resilient Everton team that must overcome a dreadful history at Anfield, where they have won just once since 1999 and have failed to score in their last four visits.
Arne Slot has a near full-strength squad to choose from, with Curtis Jones the only confirmed absentee. The manager has been boosted by the return of Alexis Mac Allister and Milos Kerkez to full training. Record signing Alexander Isak is pushing for a start after his debut in midweek, but Hugo Ekitike may be recalled to lead the line.
David Moyes has a relatively clean bill of health, but is expected to be without defenders Jarrad Branthwaite and Vitaliy Mykolenko.
Their absence will likely see James Garner continue in a makeshift left-back role. Midfield duo Jack Grealish and Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall are among those likely to start.
The Reds maintained their perfect record this season, despite concerns over their defensive solidity after conceding twice to Atlético Madrid in midweek. Their ability to find late winners has become a trademark, though Slot will be keen for more comfortable victories. At home, Liverpool boast a 100% record with five goals scored and two conceded in two Premier League fixtures.
The Toffees have shown defensive resilience under Moyes, keeping four clean sheets in five competitive matches this season. However, their attacking output remains a concern, having failed to score in half of their Premier League games. Their away form has been mixed with one win and one defeat in two trips.
Liverpool predicted XI: Alisson; Frimpong, Konate, Van Dijk, Robertson; Gravenberch, Mac Allister; Salah, Wirtz, Gakpo; Ekitike
Everton predicted XI: Pickford; O’Brien, Tarkowski, Keane, Garner; Gueye, Iroegbunam; Ndiaye, Dewsbury-Hall, Grealish; Beto
The match will be broadcast live on Sky Sports Main Event and Sky Sports Premier League in the UK. Coverage begins at 12:00 pm BST.
