Reds must rediscover some form against Arne Slot’s former side

Arne Slot will again tinker with his team as Liverpool welcome PSV to Anfield in an increasingly important Champions League test.

There remain doubts over Florian Wirtz's fitness, after the £116million signing missed the defeat to Nottingham Forest with a knock.

Speaking ahead of the 3-0 loss at Anfield, Slot said on Wirtz: "Florian should be able to play after [facing Forest]. It depends on what happens after, but that shouldn’t be that long."

A return against West Ham appears more likely for Wirtz, meaning Cody Gakpo is expected to continue deputising against Slot's former club.

Mohammed Salah will take up his usual place on the right flank despite his dwindling returns.

Salah has scored one goal in four Champions League games so far this season, and remains two away from a half-century of strikes in the competition.

Alexander Isak was almost anonymous against Forest. Slot said last week that Isak must continue to play to work up his fitness and in turn, find form, but is likely to drop out of the starting line-up in favour of Hugo Ekitike.

“We can improve as a team and we will improve definitely as individuals because players will be adapted to the league much better,” Slot said. “Alex will end up being the player he was at Newcastle if we get him fit. That will take a little bit of time.”

Further back, right-backs Jeremie Frimpong and Conor Bradley remain out so Dominik Szoboszlai could move back. Andrew Robertson is likely to replace Kerkez on the other flank.
