Liverpool’s Ibrahima Konaté set for Real Madrid move | OneFootball

Ibrahima Konaté’s (27) impending exit from Liverpool has been confirmed. Despite sounding positive on the subject of a contract extension towards the end of the Premier League season, an agreement between the Merseyside club and the France international could not be reached. As a result he will depart Liverpool upon the expiry of his deal this summer. He has already played his final game for the Merseyside club and, as per a report from Onze Mondial, he is set to join Real Madrid.

Deal hinges on Pérez’s re-election?

The publication understands that there is an agreement in place between Konaté and the Spanish giants. However, in order for the deal to be confirmed, Florentino Pérez must first earn re-election as club president. The election will take place on Sunday. 

A deal could, therefore, be rapidly concluded for the Frenchman, who is preparing for this summer’s FIFA World Cup with Les Bleus.
