Paris Saint-Germain have prioritized signing young, rising talent in recent transfer windows, but Luis Enrique and Luis Campos recognize the value of experience—provided it fits the club’s identity and style of play.

One area they may look to reinforce is defense, especially with Milan Skriniar likely to leave permanently this summer following his loan to Fenerbahçe.

Rather than pursuing a blockbuster signing, PSG could explore a short-term deal with a familiar opponent. With Virgil van Dijk nearing the end of his contract, reports suggest he’s on PSG’s radar.

According to Anfield Watch, PSG are preparing an €80 million offer over two years for Liverpool’s captain, with an option for a third season. A sizable signing bonus could push the total package to €100 million.

Recently, Fichajes reported that Barcelona are determined to strengthen its defense and have its eye on Van Dijk. The Catalan side reportedly plan to offer van Dijk a two-year contract, hoping to convince him to accept a competitive project despite financial limitations.

Football Insider reports that Liverpool are considering Van Dijk’s age as they discuss a new contract, with the center-back set to turn 34 this summer.

David Ornstein of The Athletic previously reported that everyone involved is downplaying the possibility of Van Dijk moving to PSG, adding that Liverpool are confident he will sign an extension.

Meanwhile, ESPN’s Julien Laurens echoed that sentiment, stating that a deal isn’t close—despite a video surfacing of the Liverpool captain with PSG sporting advisor Luis Campos.
