Newly-promoted London City Lionesses have made an ambitious double swoop with the arrivals of Alanna Kennedy and Katie Zelem from Angel City FC.
Both players have plenty of WSL experience as the Bromley-based side look to make an instant impact in the top flight.
Australian international Kennedy joined Angel City after having spent four seasons with Manchester City in which she lifted the League Cup having previously featured for Tottenham Hotspur.
"I’m really excited to be part of such an amazing club with great impressions. I can’t wait to meet everyone and get the season started," Kennedy said on her arrival...
"The ambitions of the club and what they want to do – win trophies and titles – as a player that’s what you want to do.
"It’s something that is going to take time to build, I’m excited to be a part of the early stages of this project and hopefully we can have a lot of success this season."
Former Manchester United captain Katie Zelem, who lifted the FA Cup with the club in her final game, has also joined Jocelyn Prêcheur's side.
"I’m really excited to sign for London City and can’t wait to get going," the midfielder said.
"I think being the first independent team in the WSL is an amazing achievement, it feels like since I joined the league, the growth in women’s football has been exceptional. I really can’t wait to be a part of this club.
"Hopefully I can bring a lot of experience, knowledge and some good football to the team."
London City Lionesses begin the 2025/26 campaign away to Arsenal before the visit of Zelem's former club Manchester United.
