Happy New Year everyone.
Is everyone ok? A short and sweet message to all.
I have to admit that my Newcastle United optimism heading to our tangle at Old Trafford was a little on the low side.
We don’t usually do well there. I didn’t see the positivity.
And that’s coming from someone with renewed optimism and exuberance with things. How wrong I was.
I had Newcastle United down for a defeat BUT then a positive result down at Spuds to compensate. We now have an excellent chance of doing a “dream double.”
This could prove a massive springboard as we head into 2025.
Here’s hoping that stuffing the turkeys from Manchester provides that springboard to our 2024/25 season success.
I’ll insert a bit of a personal moment from the last year.
We lost our beloved Jet a few months ago and he was a recipient of many a “talking to” after a Newcastle United performance. A sounding board has been lost. I’m sure he’ll be happy to miss out from the grief. His reaction after my appearance from a defeat was a picture. As was that after a win.
Here he is. Resplendent in Toon colours.
You’ve been saved from a few heart to hearts but will miss a few embraces that would have occurred, especially after the success of this week.
Finally for the year, a bit of housekeeping.
Best wishes to all at The Mag, friend or foe. We all have a difference of opinion and that’s special. We all have Newcastle United front and centre. We’re on the right track.
I’ll raise a glass to you all.
However, my message is clear.
Don’t question the why, or wonder about the what. Believe in the how. How things happen.
And that means the EDDIE HOWE.
