Louis Tomlinson tried on a retro 1993 Corinthians shirt during a visit to a Classic Football Shirts shop in Los Angeles.

A video on the AwayDays YouTube channel shows him choosing the striped 1993 design with number nine and Kalunga branding.

As he settled on the shirt, the host said Brazilian supporters would go wild, adding Corinthians fans would love it.

Praised for the selection, Tomlinson said he collects shirts worldwide without taking sides, adding that beyond Doncaster Rovers he has no affiliation.

The musician also spoke about his connection to the game, recalling an appearance for Doncaster Rovers’ reserves and the thrill of playing in historic stadiums.

He rose to fame on The X Factor in 2010, forming One Direction with Harry Styles, Liam Payne, Niall Horan and Zayn Malik. He later co-wrote hits such as Perfect, History and No Control, then began a solo career with britpop and alternative rock influences after the group’s 2015 hiatus.

He is scheduled to return to Brazil on the How Did We Get Here? World Tour, with São Paulo shows on 6 and 7 April 2027 at Suhai Music Hall in the SP Market complex.

He joins a list of global names spotted in Corinthians colours in recent years, among them Akon, Drake, skateboarder Nyjah Huston and former quarterback Tom Brady.
