Valencia returned to work at Paterna after two days off following Sunday’s win over Osasuna. Carlos Corberán’s side have four sessions scheduled before Alavés visit Mestalla.
According to AS, Lucas Beltrán is still training apart due to patellar tendon discomfort and his involvement against Alavés is uncertain, dependent on how he progresses this week. The forward has missed three games, Levante, Villarreal and Osasuna.
Beltrán had been a regular under Corberán and his industry has resonated with supporters at Mestalla. He joined on the final day of the window on loan from Fiorentina.
There is no purchase option in his deal, so he will have to return to the Italian club when the season ends.
Beltrán says there have been no talks for him to stay, while adding that negotiations could be explored once his loan finishes. He is struck by Mestalla’s backing, noting difficult years for the club and crowds of 46,000 each match.
