Lucas Menossi signs for Unión on free transfer until December 2026 | OneFootball

Unión have confirmed the signing of 33-year-old central midfielder Lucas Menossi on a contract running to December 2026. The former Belgrano de Córdoba player arrives as a free agent to bolster Leonardo Madelón’s midfield.

The club said in a post that Menossi completed his medical before putting pen to paper. He now joins the first-team squad.

The move was wrapped up close to the end of the window and is the team’s third addition of the season. It addresses the staff’s need for an experienced central midfielder comfortable on the ball.

Throughout his career, especially at Tigre, Menossi has shown those traits. He also had a spell at San Lorenzo de Almagro and a short stint with Universidad Católica de Chile. He made 24 appearances last season for Belgrano.

In his first comments, he said he wants to get back to the level he showed at Tigre. His versatility and game management are expected to give Madelón further tactical options for the challenges of the tournament.
