Lucas Núñez to join Eibar on season-long loan from Valencia

According to AS, 20-year-old Valencia midfielder Lucas Núñez will spend next season on loan at Eibar in Segunda.

Eibar sporting director César Palacios had made the midfielder from Alicante a priority, and he will join despite late attempts from other sides to sign him.

Núñez has said goodbye to his Valencia team-mates and plans to arrive at Ipurua this weekend. The clubs and the player’s representatives are currently exchanging documents.

It is a straight loan, with incentives in the agreement to encourage as many minutes as possible. Valencia still see him as part of their future and want him to gain experience in Segunda.

The move recalls the David Silva deal between Valencia and Eibar, which ended with the Canary returning to Valencia as one of the club’s most important recent players.
