On Flamengo’s day off on Wednesday 11, Lucas Paquetá swapped boots for a rod, sharing videos from a deep-sea trip off Rio de Janeiro with Brazilian and world champion angler Raphael Ambrósio, according to Coluna Do Fla. Supporters responded with playful messages about his hobby.
The break came after the third-round fixture. On Tuesday 10 at Barradão, Paquetá started and played the first half as Flamengo moved 2-0 ahead.
He was replaced early in the second half by Jorge Carrascal, and the match finished 2-1, delivering Flamengo’s first three points of the campaign.
The result leaves the Rubro-Negro on four points and eighth in the table.
With Paquetá available, attention now turns to Botafogo in the Carioca quarter-finals, with kick-off at 17:30 Brasília time on Sunday 15 at Estádio Nilton Santos.
