Leeds United have announced they have completed the signing of Lucas Perri from Lyon.
The 27-year-old has signed a four-year contract at Elland Road, becoming the seventh summer addition for the Yorkshire club.
According to BBC Sport, the deal for the Brazilian is worth £15.6 million.
Perri expressed his delight at joining Leeds, calling it ‘a dream come true’.
He said: “It is incredible. It is a dream come true.
“When I first heard that the interest could get something serious and actually happen, I started to look for videos of the stadium, the atmosphere, the games, the highlights of the plays and the matches.
“It was a really exciting moment for me. I was really, really glad that the club showed interest. It was incredible. To sign here I am very, very happy.”
Perri started his career at Sao Paulo before moving to Botafogo in 2022. He joined Lyon after a year and a half at the Rio de Janeiro-based club.
The 6ft 5in goalkeeper hit the ground running at the Groupama Stadium, featuring in 45 matches across all competitions in 2024-25.
He kept 13 clean sheets as the Ligue 1 outfit qualified for European football by finishing sixth in the French league.
Illan Meslier has been the first-choice goalkeeper at Leeds since joining the club in 2020 from Lorient.
But the 25-year-old lost his place to Karl Darlow towards the end of the season following a series of errors.
Leeds have had a solid 2025 summer transfer window so far. They recently wrapped up a £17m move for Anton Stach after the arrival of experienced midfielder Sean Longstaff from Newcastle United.
To bolster their defence, the Whites have brought in Jaka Bijol, Sebastiaan Bornauw, and Gabriel Gudmundsson.
Meanwhile, Lukas Nmecha has also joined the club on a free transfer earlier this summer.
