Lucas Piton returned to Vasco's starting XI in the draw at Coritiba.
According to Globo.com, he started at Couto Pereira with Cuiabano rested due to gluteal muscle pain. The number 66 has no injury and is undergoing evaluation.
It was Piton's first start since 12 March against Palmeiras, which marked Renato Gaúcho's debut. He had featured twice since then, both times from the bench.
Piton spent much of the match tracking Lucas Ronier, Coritiba's standout. He curbed his forward runs, though he produced a dangerous second-half effort, and was solid defensively.
Cuiabano's return for Botafogo at São Januário on Saturday is yet to be confirmed, with fitness checks ongoing. Piton could get another chance in the clássico in the 10th round of the Brasileirão.
