São Paulo beat Flamengo 2-1 at Morumbi on Wednesday, rising from 13th to 3rd in the Brasileirão as Luciano and Danielzinho overturned Gonzalo Plata's opener.
Gonzalo Plata put the visitors ahead in the 54th minute, finishing from close range after Pedro's pass. Luciano then glanced in Enzo Díaz's cross (61.), before Danielzinho swept the winner into the top corner from the right of the six-yard box (71.).
Rafael made smart late saves, notably thwarting Plata, as Tricolor Paulista defended a stream of deliveries. Fla pressed again in added time, but Giorgian de Arrascaeta shot wide from close range before Jorginho was sent off in the ninth minute of second half stoppage time.
Tricolor Paulista registered 10 attempts and had 40.8% possession. Fla produced 15 attempts and held 59.2% of the ball.
Next, Tricolor Paulista visit Santos in the Brasileirão. Fla host Internacional in the same competition.
