Paris Saint-Germain crashed out of the Coupe de France in the round of 32 after a 1-0 defeat to Paris FC. This setback marks the first missed domestic trophy for Luis Enrique since taking charge of the Parisian club.
Despite dominating possession, the Parisians lacked clinical edge up front and failed to capitalize on numerous opportunities. Paris FC, defensively solid and well-organized, held firm before breaking the deadlock on a counterattack.
The only goal of the match came in the 74th minute, scored by substitute Jonathan Ikoné with a strike inside the box, assisted by Algerian international Ilan Kebbal.
This elimination marks Luis Enrique's first domestic failure with PSG, after previously winning several trophies, including Ligue 1 and the Trophée des Champions.
In his post-match press conference, the 55-year-old Spanish manager expressed satisfaction with his team's performance despite the loss. He felt his side dominated the match without finding the net, calling the result harsh but reminding everyone that such scenarios are part of football.
