Lyon enter talks with Chelsea centre-back Axel Disasi | OneFootball

Lyon have entered into talks with Chelsea centre-back Axel Disasi (27), according to L’Equipe. Les Gones need to strengthen their defense next month due to Moussa Niakhaté and Clinton Mata taking part in the AFCON with Senegal and Angola. Disasi is currently frozen out at Stamford Bridge, where he is yet to feature with Enzo Maresca’s Blues this season.

The France international centre-back has been allowed to spend the second half of the previous season on loan at Aston Villa. Lyon have explored multiple options to find a centre-back that could slot right into Paulo Fonseca’s XI. Their search have eventually led them to Disasi, with whom Lyon are in contact with for several days.

Disasi is open to the idea of joining Lyon on loan, and so is Chelsea. However, given that Disasi hasn’t played a high-level competitive game in several months now, it’s not certain that the move will go ahead as Fonseca requires a player that could perform from the get-go.
