Lyon hold talks to sign Rangers’ Youssef Chermiti | OneFootball

Olympique Lyonnais are in the market for a new forward this summer and, after showing interest in Hearts’ Claudio Braga (26), the club have now turned their attention towards Glasgow Rangers’ Youssef Chermiti (22), according to a report from Foot Mercato.

OL are without a talisman heading into the coming season. Endrick’s loan from Real Madrid has expired, Rachid Ghezzal’s contract has expired, and Roman Yaremchuk’s loan move has not (yet) been made permanent. 

There is a big hole to fill and Lyon believe that Chermiti can fill it. Following his €8m move from Everton last summer, the Portugal U21 international excelled in Scotland. In all competitions, he scored 15 goals and registered five assists in 41 matches in all competitions.

Foot Mercato understands that there have already been talks between Lyon and Rangers regarding a transfer for the striker. The publication adds that a bid just shy of €20m, including bonuses, could be submitted by the Ligue 1 club.
