Lyon's Ainsley Maitland-Niles to miss Europa League knockout round tie against Celta Vigo | OneFootball

Lyon's Ainsley Maitland-Niles is expected to be out for two weeks with an adductor injury. According to Get French Football News, head coach Paulo Fonseca provided the update.

The Englishman started Thursday's French Cup quarter-final defeat to RC Lens, went off with 20 minutes left and was replaced by Hans Hateboer, 32. Subsequent tests confirmed the adductor issue.

He has already been ruled out of Sunday evening's Ligue 1 match against Paris FC.

Maitland-Niles is also unlikely to feature in the Europa League round of 16 double-header against Celta Vigo, while next weekend's league game at Le Havre is in doubt.

Lyon cannot call on Hateboer or Noham Kamara, 19, against the Spanish side because neither is registered on UEFA's list.

Malick Fofana, 20, Ernest Nuamah, 22, Afonso Moreira, 20, Pavel Šulc, 25, and Ruben Kluivert, 24, are also likely to remain sidelined for the next few days.
