There have been doubts surrounding Fernandez’s future ever since Chelsea were eliminated from the Champions League by PSG.

Fernandez was handed a two match ban by Liam Rosenior after comments he made about his future during the March international break.

Enzo Fernandez wants new contract at Chelsea

It’s believed his preferred destination is Real Madrid, but Fernandez has also emerged as a target for Manchester City.

The 25-year-old had been in negotiations over a new deal, but was unable to reach an agreement on salary according to his agent Javier Pastore.

Fernandez’s future is certainly one to watch over the summer, and Mail Sport have reported he wants to sign a new contract similar to those given to James and Caicedo.

The report adds Chelsea will reopen talks over a new deal at the end of the season to see if they can reach an agreement.

Fernandez’s current deal runs until 2032, and he’s scored 13 goals and registered six assists in 49 appearances in all competitions.
