Manchester United are planning to keep hold of Harry Maguire beyond the summer, when his contract is currently due to expire.

According to MailSport’s Chris Wheeler and Nathan Salt, it’s now looking ‘increasingly likely’ that the centre-half stays put in Manchester.

United are ‘expected to make an offer’ to him in the coming weeks in the hopes of reaching a swift agreement over his new contract length and salary.

As he is now in the final four months of his deal, interested suitors have been able to approach the 32-year-old over a potential move since January, and AC Milan took their chance to gauge the feasibility of signing Maguire in the winter window.

However, he made it clear that his priority is to stay with United.

It comes amid a tremendous run of form for the Sheffield-born stalwart in recent weeks, during which he has started every match of Michael Carrick’s tenure thus far.

He has been integral to the side claiming an emphatic four wins in five matches, including clean sheets against Manchester City and Tottenham Hotspur.

Such eye-catching performances have prompted calls – one being from former international John Terry – for Maguire to be restored to the England setup under Thomas Tuchel.

The German coach officially succeeded Gareth Southgate at the start of 2025 and has yet to call upon the likes of Maguire, Luke Shaw, or even Kobbie Mainoo, so it’ll be interesting to see if any Red is included in Tuchel’s picks for their friendlies in late March.
