The ACL curse has hit the Women's Super League once again, with Tottenham Hotspur's Maite Oroz the latest to pick up a serious injury.
The news follows two Liverpool players who have also suffered lengthy crucial ligament injuries with goalkeeper Rafaela Borggräfe picking up the injury before confirmation of Sophie Roman Haug also was confirmed to have an ACL injury today.
Oroz picked up the injury during Spurs' 3-0 League Cup win over second tier Birmingham City on Sunday in what was the Spaniard's third appearance of the season.
"Maite will undergo surgery in the coming weeks and, following that, will begin her rehabilitation with our medical team," a statement from the North London club said.
"Everyone at Tottenham Hotspur wishes Maite a full and speedy recovery. She will have our love and support every step of the way."
