The ongoing saga regarding Lucho Acosta's desire to leave FC Cincinnati is grabbing all the headlines in the final few weeks of the MLS offseason.

The superstar attacker gave an interview to local media this past week, criticizing club executives amid his refusal to report for preseason training.

“If my move out of FC Cincinnati occurs, it is all because of general manager Chris Albright,” Acosta said.

“My frustration after the last game of the season was all because of my issues with Chris that had evolved to a point that the locker room became too small for the two of us."

However, after recent reports suggested he could be on his way to Argentine outfit Estudiantes, it has been reported in South America that the ownership group behind Estudiantes, Foster Gillett, is behind on making transfer payments for other players, casting major doubt on their ability to bring Acosta to La Plata.
