The in-form striker emerged as a possible doubt for this weekend’s Premier League meeting with Burnley following a worrying fitness update
Manchester City appear to have dropped a massive update regarding Erling Haaland ahead of this weekend’s Premier League clash against Burnley.
Haaland has arguably been Man City’s most consistent performer at the start of the season, scoring seven goals in just six appearances across all competitions.
The prolific striker has found the back of the net in each of City’s last three games - against Manchester United, Napoli and Arsenal - but missed the Carabao Cup third round win over Huddersfield on Wednesday night.
Speaking before the game, Man City manager Pep Guardiola seemed to raise doubts about having Haaland available for selection against Burnley on Saturday after delivering a rather worrying update.
“[Haaland was in] recovery yesterday, he didn’t train,” Guardiola said.
“Today I didn’t see him or the rest of the players yet but hopefully he can be [back] for the next weekend.”
“It’s been such a demanding week, the last game especially and sometimes the players have problems. But I think we will be fine next weekend, I hope so.”
Man City posted an image of Haaland in training on Thursday which suggests the striker will be fit enough to lead the line against the Clarets.
This is a massive boost for Guardiola especially as Omar Marmoush is currently sidelined with a knee injury sustained while on international duty with Egypt earlier in the month.
Haaland, who bagged FIVE goals in a recent World Cup qualifier for Norway at home to Moldova - has a fine record against Burnley, scoring five goals in just three appearances.
