Man City ‘to target’ Geronimo Rulli as James Trafford replacement

Fabrizio Romano reports that Manchester City are targeting Marseille’s Argentina international Geronimo Rulli to replace James Trafford as he nears a Leeds United move.

yorkshireeveningpost.co.uk reports that Leeds are on the verge of breaking their transfer record to sign Trafford as their new no 1 in a deal worth £40m plus add-ons.

City signed Trafford from Burnley last summer and also brought in Gianluigi Donnarumma, which eventually left Trafford as the club’s no 2.

Trafford’s expected departure would leave City needing a new back-up keeper, and Rulli, 34, is understood to be keen, with Marseille aware of the interest.

As of Wednesday evening, the Leeds transfer was not fully completed, though the report noted club sources felt positive that it would go through.
