City have won five and drawn two of their last seven matches in all competitions, which includes picking up 10 points from four Premier League games since they suffered surprise back-to-back defeats to Tottenham and Brighton.
Man City fans will be encouraged by the return of Rayan Ait-Nouri and Omar Marmoush to training, although Saturday’s clash with Everton may come too soon for either to feature. Abdukodir Khusanov also remains unlikely to be risked.
However, Rodri, the 2024 Ballon d’Or winner, is expected to miss out after sustaining a hamstring injury in the win over Brentford. Nico Gonzalez is the most likely candidate to take his place in midfield.
Erling Haaland, fresh off scoring a hat-trick for Norway, is in sensational form right now and leads the race for the Premier League Golden Boot with nine goals from seven games this season. The added bonus for City is that Haaland was released early from international duty, so he’ll be fit and firing for Saturday’s game.
Behind Haaland, Phil Foden and Tijjani Reijnders are expected to start, while Pep Guardiola faces decisions over who to pick from Bernardo Silva, Jeremy Doku, Savinho, Rayan Cherki, and Oscar Bobb.
Donnarumma will be between the sticks behind a likely back four of Matheus Nunes, Ruben Dias, Josko Gvardiol, and Nico O’Reilly.
Haaland’s numbers this season have been frightening, scoring an eye-popping 22 goals across 13 games for club and country.
In fact, the defeat to Spurs is the only game so far in which he hasn’t found the back of the net.
Highlights include a five-goal haul and a hat-trick for Norway, a brace in the Manchester Derby, and the winner last time out for City against Brentford.
Man City are unbeaten in their last 16 league games against Everton, winning 13, while Haaland will head into the game bidding to hit double figures in the league this season. Should he do so, it would mark just the third time in Premier League history a player has hit double figures by Gameweek 8 – with Haaland already responsible for the other two in 2022/23 and 2024/25.
