Champions have been handed big boost as duo return to training
Manchester City have been handed a significant concern ahead of Sunday’s Premier League trip to Ipswich.
Pep Guardiola’s side had got back to winning ways up until Tuesday night, when the champions threw away a two-goal lead at Brentford to leave only with a 2-2 draw.
It remains to be seen if the champions really have turned a corner or if there is a deeper issue in play in regards to their poor form this season.
They may have to seek a result against Ipswich without leading scorer Erling Haaland as he was spotted going down on his haunches during the second half against the Bees.
Guardiola’s response to being asked if Haaland is fit was: “We will see, yesterday was a day off, now we are going to train, and we will see because some players finished [against Brentford] with some problems like every game. And we will see."
With that said, both Ruben Dias and Oscar Bobb have been spotted in training ahead of Sunday’s clash at Portman Road, although expecting either to start given the nature of their injuries this season would perhaps be too much.
Rodri remains injured, while John Stones is a doubt. Kyle Walker is not expected feature after asking to leave the club.
