Manchester United’s summer business could rest on what happens with two of their forwards over the coming weeks.
Marcus Rashford and Rasmus Hojlund have both been at the centre of exit talk.
After all, their respective situations are attracting plenty of attention as the transfer window approaches.
According to GiveMeSport, via Fabrizio Romano, United are confident of raising around £70m from the pair through deals that are expected to become permanent.
The combined figure is being factored into the English club’s wider summer planning.
INEOS will, therefore, be looking at how much money they have to spend based on this scenario.
The Denmark international is said to make up a sizeable portion of this projected income.
Napoli have already paid a €6m loan fee for the former Atalanta striker.
In addition, a further €44m is expected if the move is turned into a permanent one.
Furthermore, if this clause is completed it would take the total value of the 23-year-old’s exit to €50m. This makes it one of the crucial elements behind the overall sum those at M16 reportedly expect to receive.
Meanwhile, Rashford is the other significant part of the calculation.
In this case, Barcelona are reportedly expected to finalise a permanent deal for the 28-year-old England international.
The Red Devils think the Catalan side will be able to complete this move for around €30m. This in turn would bring the combined income from the two exits to roughly €80m, which is the equivalent of about £70m.
Moreover, the focus is not only on where Rashford or Hojlund could play next, but also on what their departures might mean for INEOS’ transfer strategy.
In the final analysis, the figures would represent a massive injection of funds for the Old Trafford club as they try to shape their squad ahead of the new campaign.
Essentially, United will, therefore, be hoping that both loan deals become permanent.
