Manchester United forward Marcus Rashford’s future continues to dominate headlines since he publicly announced his desire to leave his boyhood club and the club have plans to address this conundrum during the January transfer window.

Ruben Amorim decided to drop the Mancunian for the all-important Manchester derby and a couple of days after that, the United No 10 decided to that infamous interview, the timing of which did not go down well within the dressing room.

The head coach was also far from pleased and proceeded to drop him from the matchday squad for the next two games as well. And as per his pre-match press conference quotes, the 27-year-old could miss the Wolves game as well.

INEOS are backing the Portuguese but the more games the Englishman misses, the more his valuation plummets, something they do not want.

Rashford’s future

The Red Devils are hoping to earn between £50 million to £60 million for their academy graduate but the player’s humongous £375,000 per week wages (as per capology) will be difficult for lots of clubs to afford.

Barcelona and Paris Saint-Germain have already exited the race while, despite the interest from Galatasaray and Fenerbahce, both Turkish giants would struggle to pay United’s asking price and the wages.

A move to the Middle East seems to be off the cards for the forward and it seems INEOS are aware of the problem, and are thus open to Rashford leaving on loan.

This is akin to Jadon Sancho’s temporary exit to Borussia Dortmund, a move which saw him recapture his best form allowing the club to earn a decent fee from his eventual move to Chelsea.

As per Football Insider, a permanent exit will be impossible in the winter and hence, the club arrived at this decision to attract more suitors.

“Man United are hoping to loan wantaway forward Marcus Rashford out in the January transfer window, sources have told Football Insider. Sources say a loan deal for the England international is the most likely outcome in the January transfer window.

Loan exit on the cards

“United loaned Jadon Sancho out to Borussia Dortmund last January to reignite his career and put the winger back in the shop window. He has since joined Chelsea on another loan, with the Blues obligated to complete a permanent move next summer.

“It is believed the club could follow that blueprint with Rashford as they vie to boost his transfer value and attract potential suitors.

“Sources say a permanent move for the 60-cap England star is almost impossible at this time due to his transfer value and astronomical wages.”

Atletico Madrid and La Liga rivals Barcelona are both interested in a loan deal and if they include an obligation or option to buy, United could sanction such an exit. All eyes on January 1 when the window opens.
