According to The Sun, the Premier League side are willing to wait until next season before giving the goalkeeper an opportunity in the first team.

The Czechia underage international joined the Robins on a temporary basis in the summer window, arriving after the appointment of Gerhard Struber as manager.

The 22-year-old has conceded 18 goals from 15 appearances in the second division, with Bristol City aiming to contend for a top six finish in the table.

Vitek has cemented himself as a key part of the first team squad, as he looks to prove to Man United that he is ready for the step up to Ruben Amorim’s plans.

Man United are reportedly eyeing a first team place for Vitek for next season following his impressive performances in Struber’s side.

It is believed that the Red Devils are not planning to recall the goalkeeper in the new year, which will come as a positive development at Ashton Gate.

However, any hopes of being able to sign the player on a permanent basis have taken a big step backwards, with Amorim lining up a place in the senior squad at Man United for the youngster.

Vitek has yet to make his first appearance for Man United, having previously gone out on loan to Accrington Stanley and Blau-Weiβ Linz.

The summer signing of Senne Lammens has changed the pecking order of Man United’s goalkeepers, with previous first-choice option Andre Onana currently out on loan at Trabzonspor.

Meanwhile, Bristol City are currently eighth in the Championship table, having earned 23 points from their opening 15 fixtures.

Next up for the Robins is a home clash against manager-less Swansea City on 22 November in a 12.30pm kick-off.

Radek Vitek news is a big boost for Bristol City

Bringing in a young goalkeeper on loan is risky because the possibility of losing him again in January could be quite detrimental to a team.

So this is a really positive development for Struber, as Vitek has been quite impressive so far this season and having to replace him in January would’ve been quite difficult.

It’s not surprising that Vitek is being considered as a first team option at Man United for next season, however, as their goalkeeper options are up in the air.

Lammens was a left-field signing, who has albeit done well with the first team opportunity he’s been given, but Vitek will still fancy his chances of competing for minutes under Amorim.
