Jadon Sancho is getting ever closer to sealing a move to Juventus, as Manchester United have reportedly succumbed to a key condition.

The 25-year-old’s loan spell at Chelsea was a mixed bag. Despite being hailed as ‘amazing’ by Ian Wright during the first half of the season, the West Londoners opted against keeping him on a permanent basis, preferring to pay a £5 million penalty. Therefore, the winger finds himself in a similar position to last summer: unwanted at Carrington.

Sancho and four other Ruben Amorim outcasts have already asked to leave the club, and they were handed additional leave, as a means to avoid awkward reunions.

Luckily for the England international, he found himself a serious suitor in the shape of Juventus.

Jadon Sancho is one of five players leaving Man United

The Serie A giants have been negotiating a deal with Man Utd as well as Sancho’s representatives over the past few weeks, and they have been able to make some progress.

According to Il Corriere dello Sport (via TuttoJuve), INEOS are desperate to seal the deal, so they’re willing to hand the Bianconeri an important ‘assist’.

As the Roman newspaper explains, United are hellbent on offloading Sancho and his fellow exiles as soon as possible, as they must make room for new signings. After all, the club’s ability to pull off transfers hinges first and foremost on the exits, especially after spending £62.5 million on Matheus Cunha, while Bryan Mbeumo could soon follow suit for similar figures.

Man Utd step up to facilitate Juventus & Sancho agreement

So while Juventus have been struggling to find an agreement with Sancho and his entourage on personal terms, Man Utd could unblock the deal by offering the player severance pay, thus remunerating him for the lower salary he’s bound to earn in Turin.

Once this knot is untied, we can expect the transfer to go through. MUFC were initially hoping to collect a transfer fee worth £25 million, but they have now realised they’re unlikely to find a club willing to meet this asking price, especially with only one year left on the player’s contract. Instead, Juventus are offering around  €10 million plus €5 million in bonuses.
