Manchester United are on the cusp of signing Matheus Cunha, so they have reportedly identified Rasmus Hojlund as the one who’ll make way.
The Dane scored an injury-time equaliser on Sunday to prevent another defeat for the Reds against Bournemouth. This was only the striker’s fourth Premier League goal of the season, a stat that could doom the player’s chances of remaining at Carrington beyond the summer.
The Premier League giants are expected to bolster Ruben Amorim’s attacking department with some much-needed reinforcements.
Cunha should be the first arrival, as INEOS are very close to securing an agreement with his entourage over personal terms. United don’t need to negotiate a deal with Wolves, as they can simply trigger the Brazilian’s release clause by paying £62.5 million.
Nevertheless, forging out this sizable amount won’t be easy, especially if they miss out on Champions League football. Hence, the Red Devils must raise some funds through sales.
According to CaughtOffside, Man Utd have placed Hojlund on the market, as he’s now considered surplus to requirements.

The Red Devils had splashed £64 million to sign the Denmark international from Atalanta. The club’s co-owner, Sir Jim Ratcliffe, named Hojlund among five ‘overpaid’ and ‘not good enough’ Man Utd players when aiming a dig at the old management.
This, INEOS would be happy to rid themselves of the misfiring striker who still has admirers in the Italian peninsula. As the source explains, Juventus and Napoli are keeping close tabs on the situation.
But despite his current struggles, United aren’t willing to sell Hojlund on the cheap. The former Atalanta star will reportedly command a transfer fee in the region of £50 million.
It should be noted that Cunha wouldn’t be Hojlund’s direct replacement, as the Brazilian is expected to play as an attacking midfielder alongside Amad Diallo.
Hence, United are still pursuing a new centre-forward, with Liam Delap reportedly topping the shortlist.
