Leeds United visit Manchester United on Monday night with the injury picture taking shape. According to yorkshireeveningpost.co.uk, six players are out, four are doubts, and a star is expected back.

The Roses derby at Old Trafford is the first league match for over two weeks for both, and United’s first game of any kind in 24 days. Out of the FA Cup and Europe, Michael Carrick’s side last played in a 2-2 draw at Bournemouth on Friday, March 20, when Harry Maguire was sent off. They flew to Dublin this week for an intensive training camp.

Leeds had no such break, going to extra time and penalties in last Sunday’s FA Cup quarter-final at West Ham, winning 4-2 on spot kicks. Midfielder Anton Stach sustained an ankle ligament injury, leaving in a protective boot and on crutches, and is viewed as more likely to return in May than April. Joe Rodon also injured an ankle and is on a similar timeline.

Winger Dan James misses out with an adductor strain. For United, Maguire is suspended, while Matthijs de Ligt remains sidelined with a back problem and is ruled out. Patrick Dorgu, 21, continues his hamstring rehab after January’s 3-2 win at Arsenal, and is also out of Monday’s game.

Selection will hinge on fitness at Old Trafford.
