In a recent report, journalist Dean Jones mentioned that Manchester City are confident about recruiting Nottingham Forest star Elliot Anderson. It has been revealed that the Mancunian outfit would have to rival Manchester United in the race to secure the services of the English midfielder in 2026.
Anderson has enjoyed a solid campaign at Nottingham as he has put in a series of impressive displays for them in the middle of the park. The 23-year-old has participated in 22 matches for the Midlands outfit this season, scoring one goal and picking up one assist in various competitions.
The English talent has offered solid protection for his teammates at the back and deserves credit for making 51 tackles, 34 blocks, 20 interceptions and 18 clearances in the Premier League. He was even accurate when distributing the ball from midfield based on his pass completion rate of 82.9% in the English first division (stats via fbref.com).
His current contract at the City Ground will expire in the summer of 2029, which could make it difficult for Man City to snap him up on the cheap this January or at the end of this campaign.

Anderson is a solid tackler of the ball and can time his challenges well to secure the ball back for his team inside his half. He usually puts his foot through the ball when required and is a tidy passer of the ball as well.
The English sensation can even strike the ball with power from long range and has got the eye to play some decisive passes in the final third. He is primarily a box-to-box midfielder but can also fill in as an attacking midfielder or as a left-sided wide player if required.
We can expect Anderson to bring more energy and dynamism to Man City boss Pep Guardiola’s midfield. He has what it takes to challenge for regular first-team football at the Etihad Stadium in the coming seasons.
At 23, Anderson has his peak years ahead of him, which makes him a dream option for the Mancunian giants to consider this winter or at the end of this campaign. He is already quite familiar with the Premier League
