In a recent report, The Daily Mail revealed that Manchester City are eyeing a move for Nottingham Forest midfielder Elliot Anderson. It has been stated that the Mancunian giants are eyeing a move to bring the English sensation to the Etihad Stadium next year.
Anderson has made a solid start to this campaign as he has produced a series of impressive displays for Nottingham at the centre of the park. The 23-year-old has found the back of the net once and earned one assist in 16 matches for the Midlands club this season across all competitions.
The English sensation has protected his backline well and deserves credit for making 33 tackles, 20 blocks, 12 interceptions and 12 clearances in the Premier League. He has even been accurate when distributing the ball from midfield, as evidenced by his pass success rate of 83.2% in the English first division (stats via fbref.com).
His current deal at the City Ground will run out in the summer of 2029. Thus, Man City would have to make a convincing offer if they are serious about recruiting Anderson next year.

Anderson is full of energy and running in the middle of the park. He loves a tackle and can make some timely interceptions for his team.
The English talent doesn’t mind clearing his lines when the opposition are on the offensive. Anderson is primarily a box-to-box midfielder but can also play in the number ten position or as a left-winger if required. He has got a wealth of experience in the Premier League and won’t take much time to adjust to life at Man City.
Anderson would no doubt enhance the quality of Pep Guardiola’s midfield department. He has what it takes to challenge for a regular first-team place at the Etihad Stadium in the coming years.
At 23, Anderson has his best years ahead of him and would be a great option for Man City to consider in the long run. He is already good enough to help the Mancunian giants compete across all fronts in the future. Therefore, Guardiola should focus on going all out to bring him on board this winter or at the end of this season.
