In a recent report, journalist Graeme Bailey claimed that Manchester City are leading the race for Hearts midfielder Alfie Osborne. It has been mentioned that the Mancunian giants would have to rival Arsenal, Leeds United, Aston Villa, Newcastle United, Sunderland and Fulham in the race to land the Scottish teenager this summer.
Osborne has come through the youth ranks of Hearts and has done well to establish himself as an important member of their B team. The 17-year-old has already made 47 appearances for the Scottish club’s B side so far, scoring one goal and securing one assist in various competitions.
The Scottish teenager is currently among the best young midfielders in his homeland. Thus, Man City would do well to lure him to the Etihad Stadium in the upcoming transfer window.
Osborne has got the ceiling to be a future star in English football, which makes him a decent option for the Mancunian giants to consider later this year.

Osborne is full of energy and running in the middle of the park. He is a good tackler of the ball and can make the odd interception for his team inside his half.
The Scottish talent doesn’t mind clearing the danger when needed and is a good passer of the ball as well. However, Osborne is still quite raw and would need time to prove his worth at the highest level. Plus, there are some concerns over whether he can make a smooth transition to life in the Premier League if Man City manage to get a deal over the line for him in this summer transfer window.
We can expect Osborne to enhance the quality of Pep Guardiola’s midfield in the long run. He would be a great addition to Man City’s academy and could grow into a top player for the Premier League club in the long run.
At 17, the future looks quite bright for Osborne as long as he continues to improve with each year. Therefore, Guardiola should focus on getting him on board this summer.
