In a recent report, journalist Graeme Bailey stated that Manchester City are leading the race for Bahia youngster Dell. It has been claimed that the Mancunian giants are ahead of their rivals, Manchester United, in the race to land the Brazilian whizkid.

Dell has come through the youth ranks of the Brazilian club and has done well to prove his worth for their Under-20 side recently. The 17-year-old has found the back of the net seven times and grabbed one assist in 11 appearances for Bahia U-20’s team across all competitions.

The Brazilian talent is currently among the best young strikers in South American football. Hence, it is no surprise that Man City are leading the chase to land him.

His current contract at Bahia will expire at the end of 2028. Thus, the Mancunian giants would have to make a convincing offer if they want to lure him to England next year.

Dell excels at finding some space for himself to get some strikes in at goal. He has got the eye to play some decisive passes in the final third and is a good dribbler with the ball at his feet. Dell has already proven himself to be a reliable goal-getter in Under-20 football.

However, the Brazilian prospect is still quite raw and would need time to prove his worth at the highest level. Plus, there are some question marks over whether he can cope with the physical style and high intensity of English football if Man City manage to bring him to the Etihad Stadium next year.

We can expect Dell to enhance the quality of Pep Guardiola’s attack in the long run. He would be a great addition to the Mancunian club’s academy this January or at the end of this campaign.

At 17, Dell has got the potential to be a world-class player in his position someday as long as he continues to improve with each year. He is undoubtedly a striker to watch out for in the future. Thus, Guardiola should focus on stepping up his efforts to secure the services of the Brazilian whizkid in 2026.
